Are you a Shower or a Grower? Does it Matter?

Are you a shower or a grower? Being one or the other depends on the difference of the length of your penis when it’s flaccid and erect. But by how much? And does it really matter when it comes to your sex life?

In this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about these terms and more.

Being a shower vs being a grower

You probably heard the term a ‘shower’ and a ‘grower’ before. And there is some truth to them, too. The difference between the two is fairly easy to explain.

A ‘shower’ is someone whose penis doesn’t change in length when they are flaccid vs when erect. On the other hand, a ‘grower’ is someone whose penis gets longer and sometimes even wider.

And it’s not just rumors - the terms were actually scientifically researched. In a 2018 study, which included 274 participants, 205 of them ended up being showers rather than growers. The average age of showers was 55.9years while the average age of growers was 47.5 years. The study also explained how you can measure whether you’re a shower or a grower at home.

According to the research, you are officially a grower if the difference between your penis’ flaccid state and erect state is more than 1.5 inches. If it’s less, you’re a shower. It’s important to note that men who participated in this study were already treated for erectile dysfunction.

Why is there a difference?

Each person is unique - this includes the size of their penis. There are several factors that contribute to the vast difference between being a shower or a grower, including your penile tissues. It may also come from genetics since the elasticity of your penis may be affected by your genes.

Alongside, your overall health, arteries, muscle smoothness, and blood flow in your penis all contribute to the way it expands when erect. This length can change over the years as the penis loses tissue elasticity. After the age of 40, men’s testosterone levels may also change, which can further impact their ability to be a shower rather than a grower.

Is one better than the other?

The study confirmed that although age does play a part in your penis’ elasticity, being a shower or a grower doesn’t objectively have a significant impact on your sex life. All in all, it all comes down to personal preference and your overall confidence.

Being confident in your penis size, no matter what it is, can play a very important role in your sex life. Alongside, communication in your relationships is absolutely essential in order for both parties to stay satisfied. These factors have a much greater overall impact than being a shower or a grower.

Can a shower become a grower?

Unfortunately, being a grower isn’t something that’s easily or naturally achieved. In fact, you may become a shower if you have erectile dysfunction - the treatment for it may affect your skin’s elasticity.

However, if you head down this route, it’s important to consider the risks that may come with any penis surgery. Always remember - your confidence matters far more to other people than the size of your penis.
